About Us
The Alan Surtees Trust was set up by musician and dancer Hannah James following Alan’s death in June 2017.
Inspired by Alan’s desire to give a platform to young folk artists as he had once done for her, Hannah gathered a team of volunteers together to establish a grant giving organisation that would fundraise and support the careers of musicians and dancers.
The trustees are:
Chairman – David Cowing | Treasurer – Joy Lamont | Secretary – Jo Cunningham | Sandra Surtees | Hannah James | Claire Jowett | Greg Russell.
They meet three or four times a year to discuss and arrange fundraising opportunities and, most importantly, to choose which applicants will receive that year’s grants from the trust’s funds.
The trust is currently in the process of applying for charitable status. If you would like to support the trust or make a donation, please get in touch.
